Installation: Stationary RV Setup
RV Internet
Outdoor LTE connectivity for the Grant family’s RV, improving download speed from 0–2 Mbps to approximately 85 Mbps at the tested site.
The Challenge
The RV’s indoor cellular signal was unreliable and affected streaming, browsing, and remote work.
The Installed Solution
Mounted an outdoor SXTR antenna and optimized its direction and carrier connection for the location.
The Outcome
Download speed improved from 0–2 Mbps to a stable 85 Mbps throughout the RV at that specific testing location.
Equipment Details
Outdoor MikroTik SXT LTE directional unit (SXTR) connected to a MikroTik router. Compatible RV mounting arrangement agreed in the installation quote, with weather-resistant cabling and suitable power equipment.
Performance Notes
Reported download speed improved from 0–2 Mbps with the previous setup to approximately 85 Mbps after installation and alignment. Wi-Fi coverage and usable speeds within the RV depend on router placement and device location. Antenna direction and carrier suitability should be reassessed when moving to another site.
Customer Feedback
At our site on Padre Island, we could not get a usable signal inside the RV from any mobile carrier. SXTR Connect installed an outdoor antenna, got us connected, and showed us how to point it toward the best tower when we travel to our next destination.
