Installation: Rural Home Internet
Rural Internet for Everyday Family Use
Provided a shared household connection for everyday internet use, reducing reliance on individual phone hotspots.
The Challenge
An inconsistent indoor cellular connection made it difficult for household members to browse, stream, and complete online schoolwork at the same time.
The Installed Solution
Installed and aligned an outdoor directional LTE unit, connecting it to the customer’s compatible existing router.
The Outcome
Provided a shared household connection for everyday internet use, reducing reliance on individual phone hotspots.
Equipment Details
Outdoor MikroTik SXT LTE directional unit (SXTR). Mounting hardware, weather-resistant cabling, and suitable power equipment supplied as specified in the quote. Interconnecting configuration adjusted on-site to bridge with the existing customer-supplied Wi-Fi router.
Performance Notes
The outdoor deployment successfully bypasses regional building-material signal attenuation to maximize available tower capacity. Whole-house throughput increased from an aggregate family bottleneck of 8 Mbps to a sustained 80 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload. Ping times dropped from an erratic 95ms to a flat 38ms. While internal Wi-Fi distribution remains governed by the customer’s existing hardware, the incoming line comfortably sustains two simultaneous Full HD (1080) streams alongside concurrent educational platforms. Customer-owned hardware remains excluded from the direct system warranty.
