Installation: Home Backup Internet
Home Backup Internet for Remote Work
The Challenge
Primary-internet outages disrupted work-from-home activities, including meetings and access to online systems.
The Installed Solution
Installed outdoor cellular backup connectivity and configured the router to switch connections according to the agreed setup.
The Outcome
During simulated primary-service failure, cellular backup restored internet access within 10 seconds, delivering 420Mbps download, 82 Mbps upload, and 35 ms latency.
Equipment Details
A high-gain 5G-RGM-O wideband outdoor antenna with an integrated Quectel RM520N-GL multi-mode modem and MikroTik router configured for primary and cellular backup connectivity. Mounting hardware, weather-resistant cabling, and suitable power equipment supplied as specified in the installation quote.
Performance Notes
Confirm switching and work-application recovery times. Meetings or VPNs may need to reconnect; electrical outages require separate power backup.
